UV and Rust Protection

Happy July 4th everyone!  Now that the summer is officially in full swing and we are enjoying all the nice weather, the sun is also getting more time to expose your canopy top and fabric accessories to harmful UV rays.  Just as it damages your skin without protection, these UV rays can damage your gazebo fabric elements over time.

We have received customer questions about this from time to time and here I would like to share some tips.  Although our canopy tops already have a UV protectant coating applied at the factory, we recommend taking additional measures if you wish to prolong the color fastness of your canopy tops and other fabric accessories even longer.  One way to do this is to apply a UV resistant spray to your fabric materials.  This is one product that we would recommend:

TriNova UV Protectant Spray

As far as potential for rust on the metal frame, which may happen due to accidental scratches of the powder coating or from scratches on the surface of the nuts and bolts hardware, you may be able to obtain good results by using a similar approach.  This is a product that can be used on metal surfaces:

Rustoleum Stops Rust Spray Paint (Clear)

We recommend rubbing lightly over any area with scratches or obvious rust spots with a rag first to remove any rust stains (taking care not to damage the colored powder coating) and then apply the clear coat sealant immediately.

Enjoy your 4th of July Holiday!

Sincerely,
Jack Lin
